ICSP was formed in 1992 and was officially registered in
October 1994. Since last ten years ICSP is at the forefront
of sensitizing public, creating health awareness, providing
training and conducting and supporting research on various
aspects of public health importance.
ICSP has a strong network of health care professionals, opinion
leaders and international experts. It has conducted and supported
various activities targeted at prevention of diseases and
control of infections with special reference to HIV/AIDS and
Hepatitis
OBJECTIVES:
· To increase awareness and importance of microbiology
and infection control for prevention of diseases.
· To promote scientific knowledge of health care through
seminars, symposia, discussion, reports and publication.
· To stimulate scientific research and investigations
related to infection control.
· To formulate recommendations for infection control
in hospitals and community.
· To provide training, counseling and laboratory facilities
in the relevant fields.
· To establish and support clinics, hospitals and
libraries for furthering aims and objectives of the society.

AND RESEARCH:
- Evaluation of Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) Services
in Pakistan (14 cities) 2004-2005, Funded by
UNICEF Pakistan
- Canada-Pakistan HIV/AIDS Surveillance Project Mapping
of vulnerable groups: Completed. Integrated Biological and
Behavioral Surveillance (in progress)
- (A project funded by the Canadian International Development
Agency- CIDA)
- Pilot Study of HIV/AIDS Vulnerable Populations, Second
Generation Surveillance (SGS) In progress: Field work

- Establishment of VCT Centre in public sector hospital

by GFATM (Global Fund to Fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis
and Malaria)
